Valencia CF: a total budget of €350m for the new Mestalla, work to resume in October 2022

"The construction of this stadium, for which €172m have already been invested, will reach €287m by its opening and will exceed €350m once the entire project is completed," announced Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander) on 08/03/2022, after having submitted all the documentation concerning its new stadium project to the administration. Imposed by the Valencian Generalitat (regional executive, see below), the updating of the financial elements of the project was a necessary prerequisite for the resumption of the work - which began in 2007 but was interrupted in February 2009 - and is now expected to take place in October 2022 for a period of "20 to 22 months."

"From the moment that construction resumes, it will generate a direct economic impact on the city of Valencia (ESP), with a construction budget for the new stadium land (in the Benicalap district) of more than €200m over the next three years.
