War in Ukraine: Formula 1 terminates its broadcasting contract in Russia with Match TV

Formula One Group has terminated its Formula One broadcasting contract in Russia with pay-TV group Match TV and banned access to the F1 TV streaming platform in Russia on 11/03/2022, as part of the sanctions imposed on the country following the invasion of Ukraine on 24/02/2022.

Match TV, a subsidiary of Gazprom Media, held the rights to broadcast Formula One until 2023.

Formula One Group also terminated its contract with the Russian Grand Prix on 03/03/2022. The body had initially simply announced the cancellation of the 2022 Russian GP, scheduled from 23 to 25/09/2022, on 25/02/2022.

• "Haas F1 has elected to terminate, with immediate effect, the title sponsorship of Uralkali and the driver contract of Nikita Mazepin (RUS). As with the rest of the Formula 1 community, the team is shocked and saddened by the invasion of Ukraine and wishes for a swift and peaceful end to the conflict," announced the American Formula 1 team, on 05/03/2022.
