Germany: Bernd Neuendorf, 60, elected president of the German Football Association (DFB)

Bernd Neuendorf has been elected president of the German Football Association (DFB) at the body's 44^th ordinary assembly in Bonn (North Rhine-Westphalia, GER) on 11/03/2022.

The former journalist and politician (Social Democratic Party/SPD, centre-left) obtained 77.2% of the votes cast (193 votes out of 250), versus 20% (50 votes) for the other candidate, Peter Peters.

The 60-year-old Bernd Neuendorf (born 06/07/1961) becomes the DFB's 14^th president and succeeds Fritz Keller, who stepped down from his position on 17/05/2021. Since then, Rainer Koch and Peter Peters have been joint interim presidents.

"Neuendorf's election was made based on a public recommendation by the conference of state and regional association presidents, which had promised him their unanimous support back on 09/12/2021," explained the German Football Association.
