TSG Hoffenheim: PreZero Arena to become the Bundesliga's first "zero waste" stadium

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (Bundesliga) and its stadium title sponsor PreZero (waste management) "want to take a decisive step on the path to certified sustainability by turning the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim (GER) into the Bundesliga's first 'zero waste stadium'," announced the club on 09/03/2022.

The German club and PreZero have already implemented a recyclable cup system, to avoid wasting around half a million cups per season, in January 2020. TSG Hoffenheim also recycles mown grass at the PreZero Arena into paper to produce cards signed by the players. These initiatives have enabled them to reach third place in the "Bundesliga Sustainability Table 2021", a ranking based on German clubs' commitment to the environment, published by the British agency Sport Positive on 07/04/2021. TSG scored one point (out of a possible two) for waste management.
