YouTube: In European Top 5, Real Madrid have the most subscribers, but Barcelona the most views

Real Madrid (Liga BBVA) are the club with the most subscribers (1,483,209) on YouTube, the online video sharing and platform hosting website, as of 02/09/2014. Real Madrid were just ahead of FC Barcelona (1,475,381), but have four times as many subscribers as the third place club, Chelsea FC (Premier League), at 361,378 subscribers.

Of the 98 clubs in five major European leagues (Germany, England, Spain, Italy and France), 78 (79.6%) have an official YouTube channel: 19 out of 20 in the Premier League and La Liga (95%), 18 out of 20 in Serie A ( 90%) and 14 out of 18 clubs in the Bundesliga (77.7%), but only eight of 20 clubs in Ligue 1 (40%).

Regarding the number of views, FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) dominate the ranking (271.3 million as of 27/08/2014). The channels of Barça and their rival Real Madrid (199.8 million) together account for more views (471.1 million) than any of the other major championships: the Premier League (341.5 million views), Serie A (242.9 million), Bundesliga (93.8 million) and Ligue 1 (56.8 million).
