War in Ukraine: Real Madrid CF to donate €1m to the Red Cross and the UNHCR

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) is donating €1m to its Foundation, which will donate the funds to the Red Cross, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and various partner charities active in conflict zones in order to "help alleviate the humanitarian needs of those displaced in Ukraine," announced the club on 16/03/2022.

Part of the funds will be allocated for actions implemented on the ground in Ukraine by the Red Cross (psychosocial support, distribution of basic necessities), the UNHCR (distribution of equipment, reception of refugees in neighbouring countries) as well as by the NGOs Cesal (distribution of food and medicine at the Ukrainian-Polish border), Salesian Missions (reception of refugees deprived of fuel, electricity or heating following the bombings) and Epicentr for Children (distribution of food, logistical support). Real Madrid also supports the actions of the Red Cross and Cesal in Madrid (ESP), which are welcoming refugees from Ukraine, and to whom the club has provided 13,000 items of warm clothing and sports equipment.
