Davis Cup 2022: Bologna, Glasgow, Hamburg & Malaga named as host cities, FFT files an appeal

"We have expressed our candidacy to host the first stage of the Davis Cup finals, a bid not taken into account by the ITF. (Faced with the opacity of the choice made) we filed an appeal with the CAS this morning," confirmed the French Tennis Federation (FFT) to the French sports daily L'Equipe on 17/03/2022.

The International Tennis Federation announced on the same day that the cities of Bologna (ITA), Glasgow (UK), Hamburg (GER) and Malaga (ESP) will host the Davis Cup finals from 14 to 18/09/2022. The draw for the 2022 finals will take place in London (ENG) on 31/03/2022. The call for host city applications was launched on 15/12/2021.

This final phase of the Davis Cup by Rakuten 2022 will be played over 12 days by 16 nations (compared to 18 in 2021) divided into four groups in four host cities, before a final draw involving the top two in each group played in a fifth host city, according to the ITF on 05/12/2021.
