War in Ukraine: LFP allows French clubs to sign a player from Ukraine or Russia

French Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT clubs are allowed to sign "a foreign player playing in Ukraine, a Ukrainian player allowed to leave his country or a foreign player playing in Russia," announced the LFP following a meeting of its board of directors on 17/03/2022.

"The board of directors has decided to transpose FIFA's decision in favour of players playing in Ukraine and foreign players playing in Russia in the LFP regulations", said the French professional league.

• "These provisions will come into force following the approval of the FFF's executive committee," said the LFP.
• The executive committee of the French Federation is due to meet "at the end of this week," according to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 18/03/2022.
