Canal+ Group: "We shifted our focus from France to the international level" (Maxime Saada)

"We shifted our focus from France to the international level. We have a strong foothold in Africa and Europe, and we are expanding in Asia. Thanks to the support of our shareholder Vivendi, we are currently looking at five to ten acquisition opportunities on all continents. We want to be one of the top five pay content providers in the world by 2030," said Maxime Saada, chairman of the Canal+ group's board of directors, to Le Figaro on 22/03/2022.

"We have resumed discussions with Amazon (about a distribution agreement). Canal+ is probably the only one that can gather all platforms within a single offer. We are a hybrid player, the only one that combines content creation and production with platform aggregation. We are currently in the final talks to make myCanal the platform of Telecom Italia," said Maxime Saada.

"We are now in a position to secure our main rights for the long term, for some until the end of the decade or so," added Maxime Saada. Canal+ holds the broadcasting rights, in France, to Moto GP until 2029 and to the Top 14 until 2026-27 (see below).
