Everton FC: a record turnover of £193.1m (+3.9%) and net loss of £120.9m in 2020-21

Everton FC (Premier League) have posted a record turnover of £193.1m (€225.05m as of 30/06/2021) for the financial year 2020-21 (01/07/2020 to 30/06/2021), up slightly (+3.9%) compared to 2020 (£185.9m/€203.7m on 30/06/2020), announced the Merseyside club on 29/03/2022.

"Losses of at least £170m (€198.1m on 30/06/2021) are attributed to the impact on the club of the Covid-19 pandemic, with £103m (€120m) of that figure coming in the 2020-21 financial year. Continued investment in the playing squad, coupled with the impact of the pandemic, has resulted in the club posting a loss of £120.9m (€140.9m) for the year," said the club, adding that these losses, also linked to the cost of health protocols, could even amount to a further £50m (€58.2m).

With only three Premier League matches and one Carabao Cup match played in front of a home crowd at Goodison Park (Liverpool, ENG), nearly the entire 2020-21 season played behind closed doors, the club's matchday revenues were close to zero (£0.2m/€0.23m).
