Qatar 2022: USA and Mexico qualify, Costa Rica to face New Zealand in the play-offs

The United States (despite a 2-0 loss to Costa Rica) and Mexico (2-0 win over El Salvador), have qualified for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar on 30/03/2022. In this Concacaf zone, Canada had already qualified on 27/03/2022.

Canada, United States, Mexico are the three co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup who will represent the North, Central America and the Caribbean in the next edition scheduled from 21/11 to 18/12/2022. These teams could be joined by Costa Rica, who will play an intercontinental play-off versus New Zealand (winner of the OFC zone after a 5-0 victory over the Solomon Islands), in Doha (QAT) on 13 or 14/06/2022.

29 countries out of 32 are already guaranteed to take part in the XXII World Cup which will begin on Monday 21/11/2022: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, England, Iran, Ecuador, France, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, United States and Uruguay.

Three of the 32 participants are still missing and will only be decided in June 2022…
