Ligue 1/Commercial company: "From €700m in TV rights revenue to €1.8bn within 10 years" (O. Létang)

"The commercial company has not yet been created, but we are not far from it. This first step should enable us to continue to professionalise our clubs and improve our competitiveness. The objective is to go from €700m in TV rights revenue to €1.8bn within 10 years," said Olivier Létang, president of LOSC Lille (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), to News Tank Football on 30/03/2022.

The executive was reacting to the unanimous vote on 24/03/2022 by the Ligue 1 Uber Eats clubs (followed by the LFP board of directors on 25/03/2022 and by the Ligue 2 clubs on 26/03/2022) in favour of distributing the sums from the CVC Capital Partners investment fund (€1.13bn from a total of €1.5bn invested), with whom the LFP entered into exclusive negotiations on 18/03/2022 with a view to setting up a commercial company. Once the company is formed, the amounts will be distributed as follows:
•  Group 1: Paris Saint-Germain will receive €200m;
• Group 2: Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais will each receive €90m, slightly more than OGC Nice, LOSC Lille, Stade Rennais FC and AS Monaco FC (€80m);
