LaLiga Santander: Villarreal CF opens an academy in Edmonton (Alberta), its second in Canada

Villarreal CF (LaLiga Santander) has opened an academy in Edmonton, Alberta, its second in Canada and its 16^th outside Spain (see below), announced the club on 29/03/2022.

"Open to youngsters between eight and 15 years old, the academy offers a unique opportunity to young talents in the area who will receive training under the Yellows Academy methodology. The academy currently works with more than 100 players," said the Spanish club.

"Villarreal Alberta will not only give young footballers from the city of Edmonton, and the whole province of Alberta, the chance to train under the methodology of the current UEFA Europa League champions, but they will also be able to travel to Spain to train at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Villarreal, ESP), and even play friendly matches against Yellows Academy sides," explained the club.
