Euro 2016: RTL watched by 10.89m viewers for Germany-Scotland (audience share: 34.15%)

The German private free-TV channel RTL garnered 10.89m viewers on average during the broadcast of the Germany-Scotland (2-1) fixture of Matchday One of the qualifying phase of the Euro 2016 (France, from 10/06 to 10/07/2014) on 07/09/2014 (kick-off was at 20:45 CET).

For RTL, this figure represents an average audience of 34.15%, or the best performance on German TV on 07/09/2014, ahead of the F1 Italian Grand Prix (4.06m viewers, 30.2% audience share), also broadcast by RTL.

The first half of Germany-Scotland was watched by 9.98m viewers, an audience share of 28.6%, whilst the second half was watched by 11.71m viewers (39.7% audience share).

RTL holds the broadcasting rights of the qualifying phase of the German national team for the Euro 2016 and for the 2018 World Cup:

  • The German broadcasting group RTL GmbH acquired the broadcasting rights in Germany of the national team for the Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup (Russia) on 11/07/2013.
