Financial fair play: Its introduction "is not possible in Germany" (Christian Seifert, DFL)

"It should be stated clearly: a complete introduction of the UEFA's(Union of European Football Associations) financial fair play rules is not possible in Germany," said Christian Seifert, the CEO of the DFL (the German Professional Football League) on 02/09/2014.

"For example, UEFA compares the Abu Dhabi investments in Manchester City (Premier League) to those of Qatar in Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1). We do not have access to the information that would enable us, for example, to monitor a RB Leipzig (2.Bundesliga, German second division), a Volkswagen (owner of VfL Wolfsburg, Bundesliga) or a Bayer (owner of Bayer Leverkusen, Bundesliga) to ensure that they make their investments in accordance to the financial fair play rules," said Christian Seifert in an interview with the German pay-TV channel Sky Sports News HD.
