Champions League: head-to-head Manchester City-Atlético Madrid (quarter-final first leg, 05/04/2022)

With a turnover of €644.9m in 2020-21, Manchester City FC (Premier League) tops the 2022 edition of the "Deloitte Football Money League", compared to a 13^th place finish for Club Atlético de Madrid (LaLiga Santander) with €332.8m in turnover, as the two clubs prepare to face each other in the first leg of their 2021-22 Champions League quarter-final at the Etihad Stadium (Manchester, ENG) on Tuesday 05/04/2022 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

Manchester City's brand is valued at €1.118bn by Brand Finance, a brand strategy and valuation consultancy, which published its "Football 50 2021" ranking in May 2021, with the English club ranked fourth. Atlético were also 13^th in this ranking featuring the Top 50 European football clubs.

The 2020-21 Champions League finalists were also ahead of their Spanish rivals in the Top 20 "World's Most Valuable Soccer Teams" (excluding real estate) as established by the American business magazine Forbes in April 2021. Manchester City were 6^th ($4bn), while Atlético were ranked 13^th ($1bn).
