Lega Serie A: "A reflection is underway" on the broadcasting of Serie A TIM matches in Russia

"A reflection is underway on the televising of our (Serie A TIM) matches in Russia. Some European leagues have chosen not to broadcast in these territories, others believe it is important to continue to broadcast a sign of peace and to raise awareness among the Russian population," said Lorenzo Casini, president of Lega Serie A, following a General Assembly on 05/04/2022, while the war in Ukraine led by Vladimir Putin's Russia began on 24/02/2022.

The broadcasting rights in Russia for the Serie A TIM over the 2021-2024 cycle are held by the Russian pay-TV group Match TV (owned by Gazprom Media).
