With a turnover of €653m in 2020-21, Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) are ranked second in the 2022 edition of the "Deloitte Football Money League", versus an eighth place for Chelsea FC (Premier League) with a turnover of €506.8m, as the two clubs prepare to face each other in the first leg of their 2021-22 Champions League quarter-final at Stamford Bridge (London, ENG) on Wednesday 06/04/2022 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

Real Madrid's power is also reflected in the fact that its brand was valued at €1.276bn in the "Football 50 2021" ranking published in May 2021 by the American company Brand Finance, a consultancy firm specialised in brand strategy and valuation. Meanwhile, their English opponents were ranked 8^th place (€769m).

The Spanish club is also ahead of the 2020-21 Champions League winners in the Top 20 "World's Most Valuable Soccer Teams" (excluding real estate) as established by the American business magazine Forbes in April 2021. Real Madrid are ranked 2^nd ($4.75bn/€4.35bn), while Chelsea are ranked 7^th ($3.2bn/€2.93bn).
