LaLiga Santander: CA Osasuna, the first Spanish club to use facial recognition for stadium access

Club Atletico Osasuna (LaLiga Santander), in collaboration with its official partner dasGate (biometric solutions), have become the first club in the Spanish top flight to deploy a facial recognition-based access system at their stadium, the Estadio El Sadar (Pamplona, ESP), announced the club on 05/04/2022. The system was inaugurated for the match versus Deportivo Alavés (1-0) on Sunday 10/04/2022.

Subscribers are invited to register for the system on a voluntary basis via their mobile phone, by scanning their ID card and season ticket. Once registered, they will be able to access the stadium through facial recognition without presenting their season ticket until the end of the season (see below). "This is a strategic alliance that will allow Osasuna to advance in its digitalisation process of El Sadar, implementing a system that will facilitate a faster, more comfortable and secure access," said the club.
