Media: Discovery/Warner Media merger finalised, Warner Bros. Discovery created

The American groups AT&T (telecommunications) and Discovery (audiovisual) have finalised the merger of the assets of Warner Media with those of Discovery to create Warner Bros. Discovery, a media and entertainment conglomerate, on 11/04/2022. The proposed merger of the two companies' businesses was originally announced on 17/05/2021.

The pay-TV group Eurosport and the American channel TNT (broadcaster of the NBA in the United States) are notably part of this new company, which "combines WarnerMedia's premium entertainment, sports and news assets with Discovery's leading non-fiction and international entertainment and sports businesses," said the new entity headed by David Zaslav (former CEO of Discovery). The new company includes the Discovery Channel, Discovery+, Warner Bros. Entertainment, CNN, CNN+, DC, Eurosport, HBO, HBO Max, HGTV, Food Network, Investigation Discovery, TLC, TNT, TBS, truTV, Travel Channel, MotorTrend, Animal Planet, Science Channel, New Line Cinema, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Turner Classic Movies and more.
