Germany: strategic partnership between the DFL & Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development

Donata Hopfen, CEO of the DFL, and Svenja Schulze, German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, have signed a strategic partnership agreement in Berlin (GER) on 08/04/2022.

"The DFL and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) are planning to cooperate on an international level in the future in terms of topics and projects," said the two parties on 13/04/2022.

"The basis of the strategic partnership is the shared conviction that sport has a positive influence on personal, social and economic development worldwide. The aim is therefore, among other things, to contribute to the achievement of development goals through joint measures abroad (e.g. local expertise exchange, projects, economic cooperation) and - where appropriate, in coordination with Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs, some of which are already cooperating with the BMZ to implement projects - to achieve synergies in international cooperation," explained the DFL.
