Qatar 2022: Scotland - Ukraine play-off on 01/06 with the winners to face Wales on 05/06/2022

"The European qualifying play-off between Scotland and Ukraine will be played on (Wednesday) 01/06/2022 (at Hampden Park in Glasgow, SCO) and the winners will face Wales (at Cardiff City Stadium, WAL) on 05/06/2022 in the play-off final for the remaining European spot at football's flagship event at the end of the year (the 2022 World Cup in Qatar)," announced FIFA on 14/04/2022.

On 08/03/2022 the Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions had indicated that the Scotland - Ukraine match, originally scheduled for Thursday 24/03/2022, was "postponed to the existing June (2022) window" due to the war in Ukraine started by Russia on 24/02/2022.

The other semi-final in 'Path A' of the European play-offs, which was maintained on 24/03/2022, saw Wales eliminate Austria (2-1). Therefore, the winner of Scotland - Ukraine will face Wales in a bid to become the 13^th and final European team to qualify.
