Social media: Real Madrid, the most followed European club ahead of Barça and Manchester United

With 273.4 million followers on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, as of 11/04/2022), Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) are the most followed European club, according to the fourth edition of "The European Football Club" report, published by Italian consultancy IQUII Sport on 14/04/2022. The Madrid club ranks ahead of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander; 265.1 million followers) and Manchester United FC (Premier League; 168.1 million).

In total, the 288 clubs in the 10 countries covered by the study (the top two divisions in France, England, Germany, Italy and Spain; the top division in Portugal, Russia, Belgium, the Netherlands and Ukraine) have more than 2 billion followers across the four social networks studied, including 1.7 billion for the Top 20 alone.
