Qatar 2022/Belgium: ING, Côte d'Or, Carrefour, GLS and Jupiler will not activate their partnerships

ING Belgium (banking and insurance), Côte d'Or (chocolate brand, Mondelēz International group), Carrefour (supermarkets), GLS (logistics) and Jupiler (beer, AB inBev group) will not activate their partnerships with the Royal Belgian Football Association at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, according to the brands and the Belgian media on 14 and 15/04/2022.

"We will not do any above-the-line advertising showing our support for Qatar in any way. ING Belgium will not send ING representatives, receive customers or launch campaigns around the World Cup in Qatar. This is due to the human rights situation surrounding the preparations for the tournament," said the Belgian subsidiary of the Dutch bank, which has adopted the same position with the Dutch national team (KNVB). ING will, however, continue to display its logo on the Diables Rouges and Oranje's kits, training grounds and interview backdrops during the World Cup in Qatar.
