Bundesliga: Karl Hopfner elected chairman of the supervisory board of FC Bayern Munich

The German Karl Hopfner, president of the FC Bayern Munich Association (Bundesliga), was unanimously elected chairman of the supervisory board of Bayern Munich, at the meeting of this body on 08/09/2014.

Karl Hopfner, 62 years old, succeeds Herbert Hainer, who has held the position in the interim since the resignation of Uli Hoeness on 14/03/2014, following the latter's sentence of three and a half years in prison for tax evasion. Herbert Hainer, also the CEO of the Aididas group, now becomes the senior deputy of the supervisory board of FC Bayern Munich as of 08/09/2014.

Karl Hopfner has been president of the FC Bayern Munich Association (Bundesliga) since 02/05/2014, and will continue until 2016. He succeeded Uli Hoeness in that position, who resigned on 14/03/2014.
