Club Brugge: 24,000 QR codes installed at the stadium to help report racist behavior during matches

Club Brugge KV (Jupiler Pro League) has installed 24,000 QR codes behind seats at the Jan-Breydel Stadium (29,000 capacity) to allow spectators to report any racist or discriminatory behaviour at its home matches, announced the club on 20/04/2022.

"We are deploying stewards whose specific task is to detect racist and discriminatory behaviour. Any fan who observes such behaviour can report it in real time via the QR code on the sticker "#NietMetOns" ("NotWithUs" ) or via the website nietmetons.clubbrugge.be. The reports are immediately followed up by our security service. The facts that are proven (through multiple reports and/or checks by the stewards) will be sanctioned with a stadium ban of at least two years, in accordance with the applicable internal regulations and the procedure prescribed in the Federation's (RBFA) regulations," explained the Belgian club.

"Racism is a social problem that is everywhere. Therefore it is also in football stadiums and also at the club. An absolute minority of the 28,000 fans who support the Blues and Blacks every week ruin the lives of others…
