"I thank the president of France, François Hollande, for organising this meeting two years before Euro 2016 (France, from 10/06 to 10/07/2016). It is very positive. It is important to bring together all of the parties and to listen to each of their ideas," said Michel Platini, president of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), following the launch of Euro 2016 during a lunch held at the Palais de l'Élysée on 11/09/2014.

François Hollande invited to lunch the different parties of the Euro 2016 on 11/09/2014: in addition to Michel Platini, other members present were Noël Le Graët, president of the FFF (French Football Federation), Jacques Lambert, president of EURO 2016 SAS, Manuel Valls, the French prime minister, Patrick Kanner, the French minister of urban affairs, youth and sports, his secretary of state for sports, Thierry Braillard and Alain Juppé, the mayor of Bordeaux and president of the group for the cities chosen to host the Euro 2016 fixtures, as well as other local officials.
