"The first match broadcast live (on RMC Sport's Twitch channel) was Feyenoord Rotterdam - Slavia Prague in the Europa League quarter-finals (3-3, on 07/04/2022). It wasn't a major fixture, but there was a huge response, with an average of 8,000 people watching the game, even though the channel only had 20,000 followers. This is very satisfying," said Laurent Salvaudon, editorial director for the RMC Sport pay-TV package, to News Tank Football on 25/04/2022.

"We realised that on Twitch, the quality of the match is less important than on television. The atmosphere, the mood, the reading of the chat and the participation of the people present are more important than the match itself. The match is a common thread. But simply being able to broadcast matches, normally available via pay-per-view, generates enormous curiosity on Twitch," added Salvaudon.
