The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), organiser of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament, posted a turnover of £290.2m as of 31/07/2021 (€340m, compared to £3.81m in 2020 and £292m in 2019) in its annual accounts published on 29/04/2022.

After a 2020 edition cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Wimbledon resumed with the public from 28/06 to 11/07/2021 (initially with a 50% capacity on all courts, then at full capacity from the quarter-finals onwards), allowing it to return to a financial level close to that of 2019.

Operating profit was £75.6m in 2021 (€88.6m), of which over £38.8m (€45.5m) is paid back to the British Tennis Association (LTA), for a net profit of £33.3m (€39m).

In 2020, despite the cancellation of Wimbledon, the AELTC posted a positive operating result of £40.45m (€44.6m) and a profit of £4.6m (€5m) roughly equivalent to 2019 (£4.8m). The exceptional scenario of the cancellation due to the pandemic was indeed covered by insurance, allowing the AELTC to obtain £174m (€192m) in compensation.

  • The 2022 edition of Wimbledon is scheduled from 27/06 to 10/07/2022.
