FIFA: Algorand, official blockchain partner of Qatar 2022 and the Women's World Cup 2023

Algorand, a blockchain platform founded in 2019, will become FIFA's official blockchain partner from 2022 as part of a "sponsorship and technical partnership deal," announced the world body on 02/05/2022.

"Algorand will become the official blockchain platform of FIFA and provide the official blockchain-supported wallet solution. As per the sponsorship agreement, Algorand will be a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Regional Supporter in North America and Europe, and a FIFA Women's World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 offficial sponsor," explained FIFA.

"As part of the agreement, Algorand will also assist FIFA in further developing its digital assets strategy, while FIFA will provide sponsorship assets including advertising, media exposure and promotional opportunities," added the body.

Crypto.com, a crypto-asset company founded in Singapore in 2016, became FIFA's first official crypto-asset partner on 22/03/2022. This partnership concerns the 2022 World Cup.
