Media: Mediapro acquires the three Fox Sports channels (pay-TV) in Argentina

The Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro has acquired the three Fox Sports pay-TV channels in Argentina, following the approval of the Argentine government's National Antitrust Comission (CNDC), announced Mediapro Group on 03/05/2022. "The agreement is part of The Walt Disney Company's (parent company of ESPN, Fox Sports' competitor in Latin America) divestitures following The Walt Disney Company's acquisition of 21^st Century Fox (on 19/03/2019)," said Mediapro.

"The channels, operating under the names Fox Sports, Fox Sports 2 and Fox Sports 3, have over 8 million subscribers and produce more than 4,000 hours of original content annually. Between the three channels they broadcast over 2,000 sports events and more than 2,000 hours of live sport programs annually and are rightsholders to the live broadcast of competitions such as the Copa Libertadores, UEFA Champions League, Formula 1, ATP, Liga ACB, MLB (baseball), NFL (American football), the World Rugby Sevens Series and the PBC, WWE and UFC," explained the Spanish group.
