Premier League: Mukuru (financial services, RSA), sleeve sponsor of Crystal Palace from 2022-23

Mukuru, a financial services company based in Africa, is to become the sleeve sponsor of Crystal Palace FC (Premier League) for the 2022-23 season, announced the English club on 04/05/2022.

The company, founded in 2004 in Cape Town (South Africa), will take over from Facebank, a London-based start-up specialised in facial recognition technology, Crystal Palace FC's sleeve sponsor in 2021-22.

"Crystal Palace's squad boasts several key players who represent African countries, including Wilfried Zaha (Ivory Coast), Jordan Ayew (Ghana), Jeff Schlupp (Ghana), and Africa Cup of Nations winner Cheikhou Kouyate (Senegal)," said the London club.

Two brands featured on the shirts of Premier League clubs in 2021-22 are based in Africa. Rwanda's tourism promotion agency 'Visit Rwanda' (Rwanda Development Board) has been visible on Arsenal FC's sleeve since 2018-19 (€11.7m/season until 2024-25) while the South African bookmaker Hollywoodbets is Brentford FC's main shirt sponsor until 2022-23.
