Germany: ARD, ZDF and RTL acquire German national team TV rights for 2022-2028 (press)

RTL has acquired the exclusive live broadcasting rights in Germany for half of the German national team's matches over the 2022-2028 cycle, according to the German free-TV channel on 03/05/2022. The German public broadcasting groups ARD and ZDF have acquired the rights for the other half, according to German media.

These rights, acquired from UEFA via the Swiss agency CAA Eleven, include 60 matches of the German national team (30 for RTL, 30 for ARD/ZDF), which will be broadcast between 2022 and 2028: the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and Euro 2028, Nations League matches and friendly matches.

RTL will also broadcast international friendlies and Nations League finals matches (outside Germany). ARD and ZDF are expected to share the broadcasting rights for the other half of Germany's matches until 2028.
