Ligue 2 BKT: SC Bastia honours the victims of the Furiani disaster 30 years after the tragedy

"On the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of the Furiani disaster (Haute-Corse, FRA, 05/05/1992), Sporting Club de Bastia (Ligue 2 BKT) will naturally be at the side of the 'Collective of victims of 5^th May' in order to commemorate and honour this date which is so important and so symbolic in the history of our club, of Corsica and even beyond," said the Corsican club on 02/05/2022.

A "meditation in front of the monument at the Stade Armand-Cesari" is planned for Thursday 05/05/2022 at 16:00, followed by a "remembrance service in the Sainte-Marie Cathedral in Bastia" at 18:00 CET.

The day before, a "remembrance match between the 1992 version of Sporting Club de Bastia and 'A Squadra di u Ricordu' composed of former members of SC Bastia and Olympique de Marseille in memory of all the victims" was organised, after the "broadcasting on a giant screen of Corinne Mattei's film "5 mai 92".
