France/LFP: DNCG report on the "Situation of Professional Football (2020-21 season)"

A net result in 2020-21 of -€685m (compared to -€269m in 2019-20, i.e. a negative variation of 155%) is one of the key figures for the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 combined in the DNCG report on the "Situation of Professional Football" published on 05/05/2022.

Match revenues have fallen by 94% and amount to just €11.5m (Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT combined) for the 2020-21 season, which was played behind closed doors, or at best with severe capacity limits imposed, due to the fight against Covid-19, compared to €186.9m in 2019-20, a season that was nevertheless definitively stopped at the start of the pandemic by the public authorities after 28 matchdays.

Another effect of the health crisis and the ensuing economic crisis is the 45% reduction in transfer revenues: €408.8m in 2020-21, compared with €738m the previous year.
