European sports ministers will meet at a conference on "Corruption in the Governance of Sport" and on cooperation in sport on 18/09/2014 in Macolin (Switzerland).

Organised by the Council of Europe with the help of the Swiss Federal Office of Sport, this conference will also kick-off the new Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions.

This convention will be opened for the signature of the member states and states that have Observer status at the Council of Europe, as well as non-member states that participated in its creation, on 18/09/2014.

"The convention will encourage the signatory states to fill the gaps in their current laws, in terms of the fight against corruption, fraud, and other offenses that are sometimes not well defined today, to cover the cases of sport manipulation," said Stanislas Frossard, executive secretary of EPAS (Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport), the organisation mandated by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to prepare the convention, to News Tank on 15/09/2014.
