USA: Fox Sports launches simulcast program “Multimatch 90” for 2014-15 Champions League group phase

The American pay-TV channel Fox Sports will launch the first permanent simulcast programme dedicated to soccer in the United States for its coverage of the 2014-15 Champions League group phase, the media group announced on 10/09/2014.

Fox Sports is introducing "Multimatch 90," which will cover all 6 Matchdays of the group stage of the 2014-15 Champions League. Fox Sports is looking to enhance its soccer coverage in preparation for 2015, when it will begin broadcasting MLS (Major League Soccer, USA and Canada) matches again, and also take over broadcasting, in the United States, FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) events from the pay-TV channel ESPN.

“One of the great, unique aspects of UEFA Champions League Matchdays is the simultaneous action taking place all over Europe, and we’re excited to offer fans Multimatch 90,” said Fox Soccer executive producer Jonty Whitehead. “For the first time, fans have a single destination where they can see it all, virtually as it happens.”
