FIFA: Jerome Champagne confirms his candidacy for the presidency (the election is 29/05/2015)

"I have the honor of informing you that I have just written to the FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) Ad-hoc Electoral Committee and its president, Mr. Domenico Scala, to confirm my intention to run for FIFA president," wrote Jerome Champagne in a letter to the "presidents of FIFA member associations," "confederations, leagues, clubs and players' associations," as well as "friends in football," on 15/09/2014.

"On a personal level, I am happy that the debate about the future of FIFA and football has finally begun with the prospect of various candidates," said Jerome Champagne in his letter entitled "A debate on the future of FIFA and football." He considers "debating about issues ... a normal process in an institution based on democratic principles."

"When the slate of candidates is finalized, I also proposed that public debates be held between all candidates in the presence of the heads of national associations during the continental congresses to be held through May 2015.
