Video games: EA end partnership with FIFA and will rename their football game "EA Sports FC" in 2023

Electronic Arts has announced the rebranding of its football video game license from "FIFA" to "EA Sports FC" as of July 2023, when the partnership between the governing body of world football and the American publisher ends, announced the latter on 10/05/2022.

"The move will enable EA to deliver the world's biggest interactive sports experience for its growing community in collaboration with 300+ partners across the world of football. EA Sports FC brings the strength of more than 300 individual licensed partners, giving players access to more than 19,000 athletes across 700 teams, in 100 stadiums and over 30 leagues around the world. EA Sports FC will be the only place fans can play in the iconic UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga Santander, Lega Serie A, and MLS, among many others," explained the video game publisher.

UEFA, CONMEBOL, the Premier League, LaLiga, the DFL, Nike and PlayStation have already confirmed the presence of their competitions and brands in future EA Sports FC games.
