Ligue 1: AS Monaco launches a Russian version of its website, Portuguese version next

AS Monaco (Ligue 1) launched a Russian version of its website, announced the club on 15/09/2014.

"Many factors have led us to become the first French club to have a website available in Russian," said AS Monaco to News Tank on 16/09/2014. "Given the citizenship of our president and our vice-president (Russians Dmytry Rybolovlev and Vadim Vasilyev, respectively), this choice makes sense. Moreover, Russia and the French Riviera are closely linked," stated the club.

"Russia, with 143.5 million people, is a territory with interesting potential for strong development for football. We also note a strong interest in the Russian media for the club," added AS Monaco. "This operation is consistent with our strategy to adapt our local content and language of communication vis-à-vis supporters from around the world. AS Monaco is an international brand," said the club.

Dmytry Rybolovlev has been the majority shareholder of AS Monaco since 23/12/2011. The website of AS Monaco is also available in French, English and Spanish. A Portuguese version will also be online "very soon."
