Josef Zinnbauer (GER) was appointed manager of Hamburger SV (Bundesliga) "until further notice," said Dietmar Beiersdorfer, president of HSV, on 16/09/2014.

Josef Zinnbauer, 44 years old, has been the manager of the Hamburger SV U-23 team since 01/07/2014. He will replace Mirko Slomka (GER), who was the team's manager since 17/02/2014. He was fired for poor performances.

Hamburger SV are currently in 18th and last place of the Bundesliga with one point after three matchdays. They are hosting FC Bayern Munich on 20/09/2014 (Matchday 4). The club, 16th in the Bundesliga in 2013-14, remained in the Bundesliga by eliminating Greuther Fürth (2.Bundesliga) in a promotion/relegation playoff, on 15 and 18/05/2014 (0-0, 1-1).

  • Hamburger SV is the only German club to have participated in every season of the Bundesliga since the creation of the league as a single group in 1963.
