Tennis: Roland-Garros enters the metaverse with NFTs of seats on the Philippe-Chatrier Court

Roland-Garros has launched "RG Game, Seat & Match", its first metaverse operation offering NFTs in the form of virtual seats on the Philippe-Chatrier Court, announced the FFT, the organising body of the Grand Slam tournament at Porte d’Auteuil in Paris (FRA), on 12/05/2022.

"The Grand Slam tournament wants to use blockchain technology to shape its future by bringing the tournament's sports fans and the Web3 community together. 5,000 NFTs (all unique in numbering and design) will be offered for sale to access amazing virtual experiences as well as the possibility to win many exceptional rewards," explained Roland-Garros.

The digital assets will be marketed in three stages on a dedicated FFT platform at a unit price of €200: first to FFT licensees (on 17/05), then to Web3 communities associated with the experience (on 18/05) before the sale is opened to the general public on 19/05/2022.
