Spain: €3.818bn in total revenue for the 42 LaLiga clubs in 2020-21

Total revenue for the 42 LaLiga clubs (20 clubs for LaLiga Santander and 22 for LaLiga SmartBank) reached €3.818bn in 2020-21, down 24.1% compared to the record 2019-20 season (€5.029bn), according to the Spanish Professional League on 10/05/2022.

The 2020-21 financial year was particularly disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, which notably prevented the public from visiting stadiums for nearly the entire season. Matchday revenues were the revenue source most affected by the crisis (-52.7%, to €384m), just ahead of player transfers (-52%). TV rights accounted for €1.688bn (-3.1%), while sponsorship revenues accounted for €583m (+2.7%).
