Naming: adidas, title sponsor of the "adidas - La Chapelle District" arena in Paris (FRA)

The operating company of the Palais Omnisport de Paris-Bercy (SAE POPB) has appointed the German equipment manufacturer adidas as the title sponsor of the Arena 2 built at the Porte de la Chapelle in Paris (18^th arrondissement), during a board meeting held on 12/05/2022.

The 8,000-seat Olympic venue is to be named "adidas - La Chapelle District" upon its opening in 2023, according to the French media on 13/05/2022. adidas is reportedly set to pay €2.8m per year as part of a contract of unknown duration. This agreement is due to be voted on shortly at a Paris City Council meeting. 

"adidas will make a significant contribution to the financial balance of the future venue," said Pierre Rabadan, deputy mayor of Paris in charge of sports, to the French daily Le Monde on 13/05/2022.

In addition to hosting a resident club, Paris Basketball (Betclic Elite), the "adidas - La Chapelle District" will host Olympic (badminton and rhythmic gymnastics) and Paralympic (para-badminton and para-weightlifting) events as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
