Turkey: Huawei becomes shirt sponsor of Galatasaray in Süper Lig in 2014-15

Huawei, the Chinese group that specialises in information and communications technologies, became the shirt sponsor of Galatasaray (Turkey) for the 2014-15 Süper Lig (Turkish top division) fixtures, the club announced on 17/09/2014.

The contract, which also ensures that the Chinese brand will be displayed on Galatasaray's shirt during Turkish Cup matches, is estimated at €3.3m for 2014-15. Huawei will also be displayed on the advertising boards during fixtures played at the Türk Telekom Arena (capacity 52,000) in Istanbul. The brand will also be displayed in the club's communications and on hospitality packages.

With this sponsorship deal, Huawei continues its strategy of acquiring marketing rights in football, following sponsorship deals with Arsenal (Barclays Premier League), AC Milan (Serie A TIM), Schalke 04 (Bundesliga) and Paris SG (Ligue 1).
