United States / US Soccer: agreement to set equal pay for men's and women's national team players

"The United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the United States Women's National Team Players Association (USWNTPA) and the United States National Soccer Team Players Association (USNSTPA) have agreed to terms of historic, first-of-their-kind collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) that achieve equal pay,  including for the FIFA World Cup prize money," announced the USSF on 18/05/2022.

The ratified agreements will guarantee equal pay between men and women when playing for the US national teams.

"This is a truly historic moment. These agreements have changed the game forever here in the United States and have the potential to change the game around the world. They are leading us forward to an incredibly exciting new phase of mutual growth and collaboration as we continue our mission to become the preeminent sport in the United States," said Cindy Parlow Cone, president of US Soccer.
