2021-22 Europa League: Eintracht Frankfurt crowned champions for the 2nd time in the club's history

Eintracht Frankfurt (Bundesliga) have been crowned 2021-22 Europa League champions after beating Rangers FC (cinch Premiership) in the final (1-1 after extra time, 6-5 on penalties) at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium (Seville, ESP), on Wednesday 18/05/2022.

This is the German club's second victory in the competition after winning the 1980 edition. At that time, the competition was known as the "UEFA Cup."

Only 11th in the Bundesliga at the end of the 2021-22 season, Eintracht Frankfurt are guaranteed to participate in the group stage of the 2022-23 Champions League alongside four other German clubs: FC Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and RB Leipzig.
