China: iQiyi Sports acquires Serie A TIM streaming rights for the 2022-2024 cycle

The Chinese streaming platform iQiyi Sports has acquired the non-exclusive streaming rights to the Serie A TIM in China for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons on 24/05/2022. The agreement includes the rights to the live streaming of matches, as well as Serie A highlights and news.

These rights were acquired from China Sports Media (CSM). CSM had previously acquired the rights from the Swiss media and marketing rights agency Infront, distributor of the Serie A TIM's international broadcasting rights for the 2021-2024 cycle.

iQiyi Sports will co-broadcast matches of the Italian championship with the Chinese telecommunications operator China Mobile, which has held the streaming rights to the competition in China since the 2021-22 season (via its OTT platform "Migu Video").

  • iQiyi Sports is a joint venture between the streaming platform iQiyi (a subsidiary of Chinese search engine Baidu) and agency Super Sports Media (a subsidiary of Chinese culture, sports and entertainment investment company Wuhan DDMC Culture Co) launched on 06/08/2018.
