Hungary: Attila Pintér removed as national team manager, Pál Dárdai now interim manager

Attila Pintér has been removed as the manager of the Hungarian national team, stated the MLSV (Hungarian Football Federation) on 18/09/2014.

Attila Pintér, 48 years old, and a former Hungary midfielder (20 caps), had been the Hungary manager since 19/12/2013, when he replaced Sándor Egervári.

In the beginning of qualification for Euro 2016 (in France, 10/06/2014 to 10/07/2014), Hungary lost at home to Northern Ireland (1-2, Matchday 1 of Group F) on 07/09/2014. Hungary's next Euro 2016 qualifying fixtures are in Bucharest against Romania (Group F, Matchday 2) on 11/10/2014, and then in Torshavn, to face the Faroe Islands (Group F, Matchday 3) on 14/10/2014.

The Hungarian federation named former Hungary midfielder Pál Dárdai (61 caps), 38 years old, the interim manager until the end of 2014 (three fixtures scheduled). This is the first managerial post for Pál Dárdai.
