Tennis/ATP Media: 86% increase in revenue in 2021 (€150m) and a pre-tax profit of €7.9m

Revenues for ATP Media, the branch of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) dedicated to the production and distribution of the ATP Tour, amounted to $160.5m (€150m) for the financial year 2021, an increase of 86% compared to 2020 ($86.1m) and 15% compared to 2019 ($139.5m), i.e. before the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the body in its Annual Report published on 30/05/2022.

This increase is mainly explained by the maintenance of almost all ATP tournaments in 2021 (only one ATP Masters 1000 cancelled in Shanghai and nine ATP 500 out of 13 maintained) following the cancellations due to the pandemic in 2020 (six of the nine ATP Masters 1000).

"Cost of sales increased by 95.6%, broadly in line with revenue from $72.1m to $141m (€131m), gross profit is 40% higher than 2020 at $19.6m compared to $14m (in 2020), in line with the last pre-covid year 2019," said ATP Media, which posted a pre-tax profit of $8.5m (€7.9m, $3.5m in 2020), or 5.3% of total revenue (2020: 4.1%).
